PCRC assures Zamfara of support against criminals

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in the country has pledged to give all the necessary support to Zamfara state government and security agencies in their effort to fish out armed banditry and other criminality that bedeviled the socioeconomic and political development in the state for over six years.
This was made known by the national chairman of the PCRC, Comrade Faruk Abdullahi Maiyama while delivering a speech at the 3rd quarters of Police Community Relations Committer National Executive Council (PNRCNEC) meeting held at Green Scenery Hotel in Gusau, the state capital.
He said since the establishment of the PCRC in 1984, the organization has played a significant role in partnership with all the relevant security agencies in the country to provide adequate intelligence gathering information which could help the security agencies in curbing criminals activities in the country.
He said, the aim of the meeting is to identify relevant suggestions and share ideas between the national headquarters of the organization and all the 36 states leadership on how to end insurgency and other form of insecurity challenges facing some states of the federation.
He described the activities of armed bandits and other criminality in Zamfara state as worrisome, stressing that all hands must be on deck to put the menace under control.
He also commiserated with Zamfara state government, people affected with armed banditry which led to the loss of their loved ones and seventeen emirates in the state and prayed Almighty Allah to bring to an end the insurgency affecting the state and other parts of the country.
He then commended the federal government for deploying 1000 additional troops to Zamfara state, pointed out that, the effort would go a long way in combating the activities of armed bandits and also bring back relative peace among the affected communities in the state.
In his address of welcome, the chairman, Zamfara state branch of PCRC who is also the state commissioner of local governments and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji said, the committee under his leadership has contributed by partnering with security operatives in the state through community policing.
