The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Nigeria, Abdallah Abu Shawesh, has condemned in strong terms the airstrikes by the Israeli Occupation Forces which launched a brutal aggression in Jenin refugee camp in the early hours of Monday, killing 10 persons and wounding scores in the area.
The military attacks started the air strikes on homes and other civilian properties on the densely populated Palestine refugee camp by a fully armed ground forces who stormed the refugee camp, leading to the loss of Palestinians souls and heavy damage to properties and infrastructure.
A press statement by the Palestinian envoy issued to Blueprint, Tuesday, called on “the international community to uphold and stand firm for the implementation of international law, UN resolutions, Human Rights Declaration, the Geneva Convention and many other agreed international legal instruments that were created to maintain the peace and security all over the world, and to secure and save the lives of defenseless people, including the Palestinian people.”
He said the international community should also take clear and firm stance to oppose Israel, the occupying power in its current aggression and attacks on civilians in Jenin refugee camp and to fully respect its obligations under international law as the occupying power.
“We call for real and effective legal and diplomatic measures against Israel, the occupying Power, similar to what had been taken in other parts of the world. It’s long overdue for the international community to act immediately, and to take the tangible measures to put an end to the shameful silence and constant inaction,” he said.
