The Customs Area Controller for Oyo/Osun Area Command, Mr. Temitope Ogunkua yesterday said the command has intercepted 226 parcels of India hemp, 27 bales of fairly used clothes (Okirika) and some rolls of Linen materials.
Mr Ogunkua stated this at the command’s headquarters in Ibadan, while handing over the India hemp parcels to the Oyo state Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mrs. Omolade Faboyede.
The Oyo/Osun NCS Area Controller declared that the 226 parcels of Indian hemp each measured 1kg were intercepted on Tuesday in Oyo axis of the command.
According to Mr Ogunkua, a fairly used Nissan Cabstar (White colour with chassis No 115666) loaded with 27 bales of fairly used clothes (Okirika), 7 rolls of Linen materials, and One bale Cannabis Sativa (Indian Hemp).
He stressed that on the same day, “another fairly used Mitsubishi Space Wagon (Green colour) with Chassis No JMBLNN43WS200132, loaded with 6 bales of used clothes, 6 rolls of Linen materials, and 4 bales of Indian hemp were also intercepted by men of the command.
Mr Ogunkua maintained that there will be no going back in the commands efforts at riding the Oyo/Osun Command of all contraband and unlawful goods and that the command will continue in its promise in ensuring inter-agency collaboration.
