The Oyo state government Wednesday announced immediate suspension of Chief Kilani Ajani as the Baale of Ilua in Saki west local government area.
A letter addressed to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, from the state Attorney-General/ Commissioner for Justice, Biodun Aikomo, said Chief Ajani was suspended over his alleged activities in the unrest and political strife within Ilua and Gbepakan communities.
The letter stressed that Chief Ajani was recommended for suspension based on a letter from the Oyo state Solid Minerals Development Agency.
It added that the suspension was approved by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, ” to prevent the crisis in the communities from festering and to allow a fair investigation into the allegations against Chief Ajani.”
