The coordinator of Atiku Abubakar Support Organisation (ASO) in Kwara state, Barr Oluwasegun Olawoyin has said the victory recorded by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state at July 16 governorship election was an indication it’s capable of breaking barriers.
He therefore urged leaders of the PDP across the country to sustain the zeal with which they fought and won the Osun state governorship election ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Olawoyin, while congratulating the Osun state governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke on his victory at the poll, said the outcome of the election had shown that when there is will, there is a way.
He noted with satisfaction that the outcome of the Osun gubernatorial election has demystified the incumbency factor in winning an election.
Olawoyin whose patriarch, the late Chief Josaiah Sunday Olawoyin was the Asoju Oba of Ede at the time when the patriarch of the Adelekes was the Balogun of Ede, congratulated the people of the town over the emergence of their son as the new governor of the state.
The ASO coordinator was enthused that the PDP’s presidential candidate, Alh Atiku Abubakar is a harbinger of good hope, given the resounding success of the party in a major electoral contest in the South west after the emergence of presidential candidates for the political parties in the country.
“The fact that APC with the incumbency factor coupled with the support and influence of its presidential candidate who happens to be from the South west geo- political zone still lost a state considered as a safe zone to the PDP, shows the zeal and commitment of the PDP leadership to breaking barriers in winning most states and the presidential election come 2023.
“My appeal to our leaders across board is to sustain the zeal with which they prosecuted the Osun gubernatorial election. If we are able to do this, I have no doubt in my mind that victory is ours in the 2023 general elections,” Olawoyin added.
