Osun foundation empowers widows, donates buses

The Wale Bolorunduro Foundation has empowered more than 100 widows in Osun with coolers, soft drinks and cash to start their business.
The foundation also donated two out of four buses promised the town to kick-start its free transport scheme for the pupils and students within Ile-Ife and its environs.
Speaking, chairman of the foundation, Dr.
Adewale Bolorunduro, disclosed that the foundation was set up to contribute positively to humanity and not primarily for politics.
He said the foundation was founded when he was promoted to the position of General Manager in Zenith Bank in 2006.
The former Commissioner for Finance in Osun state, said his background as a child brought up by a grandmother from tender age till he graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, propelled the setting up of a programme of activities that would touch humanity.
Disclosing his intention to contest the 2019 Senatorial election, Bolorunduro urged the people of Ile-Ife to support him, saying “I have a truck devoted to taking care of the health of mostly the elderly ones, though the young ones are not exempted.
“When motorcycle accident was becoming too rampant, I inquired from the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) for the cause of this and I was told that it was due to old defective machines that our people were riding.
“I was the first politician in Osun State to empower okada riders with 1,000 Bajaj machines to address the issue.
He hinted that he has sought partnership with corporate organizations, many of who are his customers and friends when he was in banking sector, and have pledged to support his foundation.
He disclosed that he began the first phase of empowering 1,000 widows in Ife/Ijesa land, which is, Osun East Senatorial District, pending the intervention of his supporters.
