A female student of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo state, simply identified as Modupe, was found dead this morning in Akungba, in the Akoko South west local government area of the state.
The deceased was a 500-level student of the Agronomy Department, Faculty of Agriculture.
It was gathered that Miss Modupe was found dead around 4:00a.m. Monday in a white garnet church cloth.
An unconfirmed source said she left her hostel for a vigil on Sunday night and allegedly committed suicide while returning from the church program.
However, a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) suggested that the deceased might not have committed suicide.
While the circumstances surrounding her death look very suspicious, video and eyewitness accounts show that she did not commit suicide as presumed.
While sympathisers called on the police for critical investigation on the matter as they said her death looks more like a case of murder.
The Ondo state Police command, while confirming the incident said the matter has been reported at the Akungba Police Divisionfor for further investigation.
