The Ondo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wednesday, reiterated the solid unification of the party under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Publicity secretary of Ondo APC, Alex Kalejaye, in a reaction to a recent publication by a media who claimed that political showdown is brewing within the state chapter of the party. He said: “The author further claimed mischievously that the state chairman, Ade Adetimehin, met with local government party chairmen in Abuja and took strong decisions ahead of 2027.
The party dismisses the said publication as mere fabrication and urges members and stakeholders to discountenance the said publication.
“We want to say categorically that no meeting of such ever took place in Abuja. The local government party chairmen were alarmed by the outright falsification and wicked imagination.
“Mr. Governor is the leader of the party in the state and no major decision can be taken without his consent and endorsement, including who contests for whatever elective position.”
The spokesperson noted that APC is known for cohesion and stability.
“We want to appeal to the leaders and supporters of the party to keep faith with it.
“The governor and leader of the party is determined to ensure physical and economic development of the state. The party appeals for enabling environment and cooperation to accelerate realisation of plans,” he said.
He stated that the state chapter of APC will continue to pursue goals and aspirations that promote the well-being of the party faithfuls in the State and general.
