Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Tuesday urged an immediate end to the ongoing violence in Benue state, North Central Nigeria, which has left over 1.5 million people displaced.

During her condolence visit to the government and people of Benue state at Government House, Makurdi, Senator Tinubu condemned what he described as the “recurring, senseless killings” in the state and called for unity, dialogue, and solidarity to stem the decade-long crisis.

She urged the nation to embrace empathy, dialogue, and togetherness in the face of growing hardship and division.

Mrs. Tinubu painted a somber portrait of those living in dire circumstances.

Shge said: “Many people are living in conditions so harsh that they can only be described as hellish. They are human beings like us.”

The First Lady warned that societal decay begins when core values faith, family and hope erode.

She added that each nation must choose wisely between forces that uplift and those that oppress.

“No nation can serve two masters,” she declared, calling for a renewed commitment to principles that build rather than destroy.
