Olunloyo: Makinde names Polytechnic Ibadan after ex-governor

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has named the Polytechnic Ibadan after a former governor of the state, Dr Victor Olunloyo.

Governor Makinde made the announcement in his brief remarks at the interdenominational commendation service for the late former governor held at the Obafemi Awolowo stadium, Ibadan on Thursday.

Dr Olunloyo was the governor of old Oyo State between October and December, 1983.

He was the first indigene of Ibadan to serve as the governor of the state.

Olunloyo also served as rector of the Polytechnic.

Makinde while speaking on Thursday, noted that the institution is to be called Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan henceforth.

He added that he made the change to honour the former governor.
