Olawande hosts Afro-Arab youth council, says Tinubu govt youth-friendly

The Honourable Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande has reiterated President Bola Tinubu readiness to bring succour to the teeming youth populace.

The minister stated this on Wednesday while playing host to the delegation of the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) and the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) at his office in Abuja.

The Organization with its seat in Kampala in Uganda was officially in Nigeria at the instance of the minister.

During the visit, the minister was awarded a plaque of excellence while the Vice President of NYCN, Comrade Mukhtar Akoshile was appointed the body regional Coordinator for West Africa.

Akoshile paraphernalia of office, certificate and other souvenirs were also presented at the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Olawande charged the delegations on the unity and promotion of youth in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

While assuring them of the federal government’s readiness to assist them realize their dream, he restated President Bola Tinubu’s policy on youth inclusiveness and engagement as cheery.

“The President is youth-friendly and has continued to engage the youth and on a daily basis talking and bringing investors into the country so that our teeming youth can be employed, empowered and get it right.” the minister stated.

In own address, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Abbas Agaba Mugisha commended President Tinubu Statesmanship, describing his leadership in Nigeria and Africa as inspiring.

He then called on the President to continue to believe in the youth and be the custodian of the organization.

While speaking, NYCN President, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo lauded the appointment and thanked the minister for hosting the foreign guests.

Sukubo, who pledged the council support, described the new position as a plus and recognition of the council’s efforts and versatility.

In his acceptance speech, Akoshile expressed the NYCN and FG’s support, saying it would help expose Nigerian youth to various initiative, skills, agric drive as obtainable outside here, adding: “Nigeria youth are always ready to make the country proud.”
