Popular Nigerian comedian, Abegunde Olamilekan, popularly known as ‘Dr Smile’ has chided the Ogun state government for not doing enough to develop the creative and entertainment industry.
Dr. Smile stated this at a press conference to herald his show tagged, “Why not smile” held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta,Tuesday.
He stated that it’s disheartening that the present administration in the state has done little to improve the creative status of the state, adding that Ogun state used to be the hotspot for entertainment events in South-west.
“It is a shame that the current administration in the state has killed the entertainment industry. Ogun state used to be the hotspot for entertainment events in South-west, apart from Lagos state.
He said: “What we have seen in the recent time is that this government has not been encouraging players in the industry to host events and this has stifled the growth of the industry,” he said.
