Obaseki bids Edo Muslim pilgrims farewell

The Edo state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has bade farewell to Muslims in the State heading to Saudi Arabia for Hajj pilgrimage.

Obaseki charged the pilgrims to pray for “evil people” who enjoy seeing others miserable and misery in the land.

He stated this while responding to an appeal by the chairman of Edo State Muslims Pilgrim Board, Sheik Ibrahim Oyarekhua for him to reconcile

with individuals who have offended him.

The Cleric made the appeal when the governor visited the board to bid muslims farewell and officially launch  the feeding of  vulnerable, an initiative of the state government.

However, Obaseki said: “we can’t continue to  convince those evil people who would enjoy seeing our people miserable and misery in the land, while they want to keep so much for themselves.

“It would be hard to reconcile with those people. As you going  on Hajj, you will pray for them to have a change of heart.

“Let them continue to fight me, call me names, but they will not touch the money. I will use the money to buy food and feed the poor,  give them  to Imams and pastors to share for for the poor in the next three months,” he stated.
