The director general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has felicitated with staff and members of the NYSC across the country on this Eid-el-Kabir festive period and admonished them to abide by the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad and live in peace and unity with one another.
In his goodwill message signed on behalf of the director general and made available to Blueprint by the director of Information and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, the DG thanked the Almighty Allah for his grace to be alive to be part of the celebration.
He said one important lesson of Eid-el- Kabir is the abolition of selfishness in our lives.
“As you offer your sacrifices, I pray that Allah purifies your heart, guides and protects you and your loved ones.
“I urge us to imbibe and apply the spirit of selflessness as demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad and apply same in the discharge of the mandate of the scheme which is our primary responsibility as staff and corps members of the NYSC.
“May Allah grant you and your families’ happiness and good health,” he said.
