NSE: Stock market drops N50bn

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday sustained declining profile, dropping by N50 billaion. Specifically, the market capitalisation of listed  equities fell by 0.44 per cent to N11.306 trillion from N11.356 trillion recorded the previous day. Also the NSE All Share Index went down by 145.22 basis points to 33121.65 points from 33266.87 traded the previous day.
The trading result for the day showed that investors bought 306.597 million shares worth N5.195 billion transacted in 3455 deals against 310.343 million shares valued at N6.119 billion in 3659 deals.
An analysis for the investment showed that Total Nigeria Plc leg gainers table growing bby N6.50 kobo to close at N165.00, Nestle Nigeria Plc followed with a gain of N0.15 kobo to close at N850.25 kobo, Mansard Insurance gained N0.14 kobo to close at N2.96 kobo, Eterna increased by N0.12 kobo to close at N2.53 kobo while Neimeth improved by 0.05 kobo to close at N1.50 kobo.

On the contrary, Forte Oil topped losers chart, shedding N5.99 kobo to close at N182.00, Guinness Nigeria Plc trailed with a loss of N4.90 kobo to close at N158.50 kobo while Betaglas loss N1.86 kobo to close at N35.46 kobom other company depreciated in price.

Were Flour Mill Nigeria Plc and Ashaka Cement which fell by N0.56 kobo and N0.50 kobo respectively to close at N33.01 kobo and N2.50 kobo. Further analysis indicated that Unilever Nigeria Plc traded 36.p371 million shares valued N1.654 billion, GTBank followed with account of 32.872 million shares worth N887.d98 million, United Bank for Africa UBA sold 31.389 million shares cost N159.801 million. FBNHolding traded 25.268 million shares worth N201.755 million and Diamond Bank 22.103 million shares cost N93.103 million.
