The volume of transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday declined 9.531 billion, as investors traded 923.869 million shares valued at N11.003 billion in 25, 680 deals.
Blueprint reports that this represents a drop of 1.02 per cent against 933.400 million shares worth N29.307 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 24207 deals.
The NGX All Share Index increased by 12.46 basis points to 120989.66 points from 120977.20 points traded on Thursday.
Market capitalisation of listed equities declined by N244 billion or 0.32 per cent to N76.339 trillion from N76.583 trillion reported on Thursday.
Trading activities during the day showed that 40 companies recorded gains against 27 decliners. As a result year to date return stood at 17.55 per cent.
An analysis of the investment showed that Champion Breweries and JohnHolt led gainers table appreciating by 10 points to close at N13.20 and N7.70 per unit respectively. Redstarex followed with a gain of 9.99 per cent to close at N8.37 per share, Academy Press and UPDC gained 9.98 per cent to close respectively at N6.17 and N4.74 per unit .
On the contrary, EllahLakes and PZ Cusson topped losers chart, dropping by 10 per cent each to close at N8.10 and N32.40 per share respectively. Japaul Gold trailed with a loss of 9.70 per cent to close at N2.70 per unit, Royal Express down by 9.49 per cent to close at N1.24 per share, Mcnichols dropped by 8.85 per cent to close at N2.74 per unit.
Transactions in the shares of JapaulGold led market activities with 147.082 million shares worth N421.617 million, Wapic Insurance followed with 44.533 million shares valued at N94.591 million, AccessCorp traded 43.625 million shares cost N984.302 million, Conhall Plc exchanged 42.103 million shares cost N122.422 million, Chams Plc traded 42.009 million shares worth N107.885 million.
