NSE: Equity market appreciates by N126bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday increased by N126 billion. Specifically, Market Capitalisation of listed equities improved by 0.86 per cent to N14.754 trillion from N14.628 trillion. The NSE All Share Index increased to 40846.24 points from 40499.04 recorded the previous day.
Investors traded 367.215 million shares worth N5.328 billion in 4462 deals against 388.277 million shares valued at N4.208 billion in 4222 deals. An analysis of the transactions showed that Mobil Oil led gainers table, gaining N13.50 kobo to close at N192.00, Dangote Cement followed with a gain of N5.00 to close at N260.00, International Breweries gained N2.50 kobo to close at N54.00, Lafarge Wapco appreciated by N1.25 kobo to close at N43.65 kobo while Unilever Nigeria Plc increased by N0.80 kobo to close at N53.90 kobo. On the contrary, Betaglass topped losers chart, shedding N3.75 kobo to close at N71.95 kobo, Forte Oil trailed with a loss of N1.10 kobo to close at N37.50 kobo, PZ industry declined by N0.45 kobo to close at N23.00, Redstarex dropped by N0 30 kobo to close at N5.70 kobo while Dangote Flour fell by N0.30 kobo to close at N13.15 kobo Further analysis indicated that Zenith International Bank led the activities during the day, trading 100.626 million shares worth N2.648 billion, Skye Bank followed with account of 43.022 million shares cost N27.939 million, Access Bank traded 23.947 million shares cost N283.202 million, Guaranty Trust Bank sold 21.139 million shares valued at N908.697 million while United Bank for Africa traded 19.755 million shares worth N215.629 million
