NSE: Bulls return as value of equities grows by N11bn

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday returned to bullish trend gaining N11 billion. Specifically, market capitalisation of listed equities grew by 0.11 per cent to N10.207 trillion from N10.196 trillion recorded the previous day.

Also the NSE All Share Index increased by 31.92 basis points to 29700.08 points from 29668.16 points traded the previous day. Investors traded 172.840 million shares worth N3.443 billion in 3226 deals against 160.610 million shares valued at N1.646 billion in 3267 deals.

An analysis of the trading activities indicated that Forte Oil leg gainers table growing by N6.00 to close at N270.00, Okomu Oil followed with a gain of N3.32 kobo to close t N35.72 kobo, UAC of Nigeria increased by N1.10 kobo to close at N26.85 kobo, Dangote Cement gained N1.01 kobo to close at N161.01 kobo and 7UP Bottle Nigeria Plc grew by N0.97 kobo to close at N197.00.

On the contrary, Mobil Oil topped losers chart, dropping by N4.00 to close at N155.00, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc trailed with a loss of N0.99 kobo to close at N21.01 kobo, Nestle Nigeria Plc fell by N0.67 kobo to close at N830.00, Berger Paint decline by N0.54 kobo to close at N10.36 kobbo while Guaranty Trust Bank went down by N0.32 kobo to close at N23.04 kobo.

Further analysis of the investment indicated that United Bank for Africa led activities for the day, exchanging 33.593 million shares worth N135.584 million in 319 deals, Zenith International Bank followed with account of 20.477 million shares valued at N344.823 million in 220 deals, Continental Reinsurance traded 20.276 million shares cost N20.276 million in 16 deals, GTBank sold 15.737 million shares valued at  N369.635 million in 238 deals, Access Bank exchanged 12.256 million shares valued at N56.671 million in 162 deals.
