Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, has expressed its determination to work with the leadership of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria to address the high spate of unregistered Private Security Companies (PGCs) in Abuja.
The Commandant, NSCDC FCT Command, Mr. Patrick Ukpan, stated this shortly after a meeting with the association in Abuja, recently.
Ukpan lamented that the association should be on the lookout for suspected unregistered PGC and promptly make such information available to the NSCDC for necessary action.
“It is an offence to operate an unregistered PGC. We have also discovered the existence of some of the companies and we have shut them down, “he said.
The commandant further called on the PGC to constantly make available to NSCDC necessary intelligence they got from their guards and clients.
“Intelligence gathering and information dissemination are simple but tactical and strategic. Therefore, our Private Guards need to be properly trained and educated on how to, among other functions, gather and disseminate intelligence through report writing.
