NPL: Soname showers team with N28m for 2nd place finish

Remo Stars President Honourable Kunle Soname has celebrated the club’s successful 2022/23 season which culminated in qualification for the CAF Champions League.

The Ikenne- based team came second in the regular NPFL season with 33 points from 18 games in Group A.

They also came second in the Championship playoffs with nine points from five matches.

Soname gifted the players a sum of 20 million naira, announced 5 million naira for the technical crew and medical team, 1.5 million to the media team and a further 1.5 million to the supporters club.

The information was disclosed on the Remo Stars Sports Club Twitter handle.

“President of Remo Stars football club, Hon. Kunle Soname, OFR in Ikenne celebrated the entire players l, technical crew and supporters of the club following a successful 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League season that climaxed with a CAF Champions League ticket,” the Tweet reads.

Remo Stars was founded in 2010 and they were first promoted to the NPFL in 2016.
