NPFL reschedules Rivers United vs Bayelsa United clash

The Nigeria Premier Football League has announced a rescheduled fixture for matchday 12, featuring a highly anticipated clash between Rivers United and Bayelsa United.

The decision to reschedule comes in the wake of last weekend’s postponement due to Rivers United’s engagement in the CAF Confederation Cup against Club Africain of Tunisia.

The rescheduled match is now slated to take place on Thursday, December 14, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, with a kick-off time set for 4 pm. Football enthusiasts can expect an intense showdown between the two sides as they vie for crucial points in the league standings.

Rivers United, currently the lone Nigerian representative in the CAF Clubs competition, finds themselves in the 15th position on the NPFL table with 12 points.

Having played nine games, the Pride of Rivers have secured three wins, three draws, and suffered three defeats, showcasing a mix of performances throughout the season.

Bayelsa United, on the other hand, recently broke free from a six-game winless streak, marking a return to winning ways over the weekend.

The Prosperity Boys, despite this victory, find themselves at the bottom of the NPFL table. However, their renewed momentum may pose a challenge to Rivers United in the upcoming fixture.
