The North-west coordinator of Northern Youth Frontiers, Ambassador Abdul Usman has picked hole in the call by the House of Representatives for President Bola Tinubu to suspend the managing director of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, over alleged ‘unguarded comments’ on local refineries.

The group said during a press conference in Abuja Thursday that, “We are appalled by the House of Representatives’ resolution to sack the managing director of Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed.

This move reeks of desperation and blatant bias, exposing the lawmakers’ shocking allegiance to Dangote’s monopolistic interests.”

The group alleged that  Dangote who had consistently employed unethical tactics to undermine his competitors as it alleged further that Dangote had perpetuated certain damage to the Nigerian business community especially BUA group, saying those instances demonstrate Dangote’s pursuit of monopoly.

“Yet, the House of Reps chooses to target the NMDPRA boss for speaking truth to power. We condemn this gross injustice and demand a retraction of its resolution and uphold fairness, setting up of an independent investigation into Dangote’s unethical business practices and the protection for whistleblowers and industry regulators who dare to speak truth to power.”
