Governors from the North-east have called on the federal government to resettle and reintegrate all the victims of the insurgency scattered across the region, even as they advocated for the internationalisation of issues of development of the region in view of devastating effect of insurgency that had bedevilled the region.

The governors, therefore, revealed that they would soon have an audience with President Mohammed Buhari for urgent action.
Addressing the newsmen at the Bauchi state Governor’s Lodge, yesterday in Abuja, shortly after the meeting, Gombe state Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo, said the North-east Regional Development Plan Committee dialogue with DFID to establish an institutional framework for the region.

Dankwambo added that the forum had approved that the committee engaged and explored areas of cooperation with the international development partners with the six governors in attendance.

The governors had also received the report of the North-east transformation strategy tagged “Development Agenda” which is a follow-up to the last year’s North-east economic Forum.
They, however, approved the setting of its secretariat at Bauch state while immediate office had been also cited at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
