The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), under the leadership of President Engr Habu Ahmed Gumel, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Senior Women’s National Football Team—the Super Falcons—on their remarkable victory at the 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The message was conveyed in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Tony Nezianya on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
In a thrilling final held on July 27 in Rabat, Morocco, the Super Falcons defeated their opponents 3-2 in regulation time to clinch their 10th continental title—an unprecedented feat in African women’s football.
“This hard-fought win was a magnificent display of talent, teamwork, and unwavering determination,” said Engr Gumel. “You have once again proven why you are the pride of our nation and the undisputed queens of African football.”
The NOC praised the team’s resilience and spirit, noting that their historic achievement serves as a beacon of inspiration for young Nigerians across the country.
“Winning this prestigious title for a record 10th time is a monumental milestone that reflects decades of commitment, sacrifice, and excellence. You have not only made history but also created a legacy that will inspire future generations,” the statement continued.
