No more visa racketeering in judo – Oshodi

The newly elected leadership of Judo Federation led by Dr. Musa Oshodi has promised to immediately stop the perennial visa racketeering that has bedeviled the federation over the years.
Dr. Osodi dropped the hint yesterday in Abuja while attending the first board meeting of his federation.
According the national black belt holder, the era of visa racketeering in the federation by some people, has actually become a thing of the past as far as his new administration is concerned.
The recent change in the leadership of the federation was as a result of new discoveries which had dented the image of the nation internationally. The past administration, led by its former President Price Nsirim, it was revealed, was engaged in visa scam, exporting non-  judokas to several countries for world tournaments including the United States of America.
The board also promised to look into how the federation was being run by an individual, which eventually had a negative outcome… especially in the area of grassroots developmental programmes, trainning of coaches and other technical officials as well as lack of financial supports from the  private sectors as promised by the outgone leadership.
Further expressing displeasure over the alleged fraud committed by his predecessor, Dr. Oshodi, disclosed that the choice of the former was made due to the promise made, to link the federation to corporate  sponsors, not to export non judokas to foreign countries. He said that  the decision to put him aside arose when the international body of the  judo known as the Irish law, was strictly passed that non black belt  ex-judokas, shall no longer be on the board or the leadership of any  country’s judo federations or such country faces severe sanctions.
