In its bid toward staff development, the Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology (NITT). Zaria has trained 28 of its workers on transport data bank analysis.
The three-day in-house workshop was primarily designed to train the staff on how to collate and analyse data on the various modes of transport.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the workshop held at the Institute in Zaria, the Director-General of the Institute, Dr. Aminu Musa Yusuf, said the training was so because of the importance attached to transport data bank on the nation economy.
Represented by the Director, Transport School, Dr Abimbola Odumosu, said: “The Management decided to organise this workshop because for one to record any significant achievement (s), you have to plan, especially when confronted with a task such as transport data bank.”
He charged the participant to justify the confidence reposed on them by making proper use of the knowledge they acquired.
Yusuf, therefore, appreciated the effort of a resource person from Transport Research Institute, United Kingdom, Engineer Debo Shofade, for immense contribution without which he said wouldn’t have been possible.
Also speaking, Shofade gave thumbs-up to the DG of the Institute, Director, Transport Research and Intelligence, Mr. Saliu Akintayo, and Management Staff for making him part of the workshop.
He described the event as “a step in the right direction,” adding that it had value that was anticipated.
