Nigeria’s Aladenusi emerges cyber leader for Deloitte Africa

Tope Aladenusi, a Nigerian, has been appointed to lead the Deloitte Africa Cybersecurity services business in Africa.

Aladenusi, who is Harvard and Unilorin alumnus, was instrumental in pioneering cybersecurity practice in Deloitte Nigeria.

He was previously the West Africa Risk Advisory Leader between 2021 and May 2025, Chief Strategist for Deloitte West Africa between 2016 and 2021, and the Chief HR officer between 2013 and 2016

His appointment was coming at a time cybercrime continues to be one of the top risks organisations face today.

As the board and executives across Africa take the centre stage in the fight against cybercrime, it is expected that collaboration among industry players is heightened to win the cyber war.

Meanwhile, global players and leaders have started sending warm greetings to Aladenusi over his appointment.

The President of the HR Club in Romania, Andreea Vionea, described the appointment as well deserved, just as Dr Samuel Mbonu, also a global cybersecurity leader, in response to the appointment, said, “There’s no doubt that you’ve worked incredibly hard to earn this achievement. I wish you continued success as you take on this new and elevated role. You are a trail blazer and have been a remarkable influence on many in the profession and the industry at large — keep raising the bar!”

Others are Olayinka David-West, Dean of Lagos Business School, who described the appointment as well-deserved.

In his own congratulatory message, Bola Asiru, global vice president at Mastercard, said, “Congratulations and well deserved. The ecosystem is safer with your leadership of this critical area!”
