Former President of Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF), Abubakar Saidu, has been confirmed dead few months to the federation’s election.
Though the cause of his death is still unknown, he was said to have passed away on the 1st of April, 2025.
Prior to his demise, Saidu was the serving president of NTF.
In October 2021, Saidu was been elected President of the NTF in a unanimous decision which saw past leader Margaret Binga unable to garner a single vote.
In a four-year term, delegates from 22 associated federations participated in the electoral process in capital city Abuja as a new Board was also voted in.
The election to elect new leadership of the NTF will come up later, in 2025.
Though, the National Sports Commission (NSC) has not set a date when the federations elections will hold, many are of the view that it will hold after the National Sports Festival in Ogun state slated for May, 2025.
