The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has ordered its members to commence a nationwide strike action from midnight of June 1, 2025.

The directive was contained in a circular signed by its Acting General Secretary, M.J. Akwashiki.

The union directed all federal chapters of the union to stay home as at June 1, 2025.

“This directive follows unfruitful meetings in the instance of the Minister of Labour and Employment who was conciliating on our matter”.

“We believe that as directed by the organs of the union, National Working Committee (NWC) and National Executive Council (NEC) of our great union, the action will continue until further notice”.the circular stated.

JUSUN’s demands included the payment of 5 months owed wage awards, the implementation of a proposed ₦70,000 national minimum wage and a salary wage increase of 25% to 35% for judiciary workers.
