Niger East bye-election: David Umaru gets royal fathers’ support

Royal fathers in Niger East Senatorial district have given their blessings to Barrister David Umaru of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to run for in the bye- election to replace Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta who died recently.
The traditional rulers gave Umaru the go ahead to vie for the seat yesterday when he paid them condolence visit in their palaces.
Receiving the APC chieftain in his palace, the Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Salihu Tanko, prayed God to give him the strength to fill the vacuum created by the exit of Senator Kuta.
He advised Umaru to listen to the voices of the people of the zone.
The royal father prayed for peace in the state especially during the conduct of the bye election.
While receiving the Senatorial candidate in his Sarki Pawa palace, the Zaki of Sarkin Pawa, Alhaji Umaru Mohammed, described David Umaru as a “worthy son of Gbagyi” to whom many people are looking forward to in all endeavours.
He urged him to live up to the responsibility repose on him by the people in emulating his elder brother the late Senator Kuta.
In his address, Umaru thanked the royal fathers for their advice and promised to make wide consultations on the issue.
