Niger state governor- elect, Hon Umar Mohammed Bago, has initiated essay competition for secondary school students to share their thoughts on their dream for the state.

Bago stated this on Wednesday in a statement issued in Minna.

He explained that the essay competition is a great opportunity for the teenagers to share their thoughts on the challenges and opportunities facing the state and suggest solutions.

“The competition, which is open to all secondary school students, encourages participants to think critically about the state’s most pressing issues and write a 1,000-word essay on the theme, ‘The Niger State I Want’,” he said.

He said the competition is an initiative to encourage education, promote creativity, and welcome suggestions from teenagers on their dreams for their state.

According to him, “We want to hear from our young people about what their dreams are. We want to encourage them to showcase their writing skills as a way of developing them”.

He described the students/teenagers as the future of Niger state, adding that “their ideas and perspectives are invaluable. Participants are encouraged to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to issues such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and the economy.”
