NigComSat partners civil defence on security appliances

Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has said that the use of Sophisticated Technological Apparatus to aid security in the protection of Critical Infrastructure and National Assets, and in the rescue of Personnel during critical crisis situation is laudable.
Muhammadu said this when the Senior Manager Network Operations Centre of NIG COM SAT with their partner, Space Engineering, a division of the China Great Wall Corporation, Dr Muhammad Alkali,Paid courtesy visit to the NSCDC National Headquarters, yesterday in Abuja.

The commandant-general disclosed that they had applications that could be deployed not only to monitor tankers, but also monitor the petroleum product itself even to the point of knowing the quantities loaded and the quantity supplied at whatever location nationwide.
He again revealed that there were other applications that had capacity to monitor the movement of personnel during the discharge of their duties, “and peradventure they are in hot spots, so that they can send signal for help for their rescue.”
“And for the ranches being proposed by government, they have an application known as geo-fencing that can monitor activities inside and around the ranches. And monitor the movement of the animals too.
Muhammadu recalled when he went on working visit to the NIG COM SAT and discovered that there were facilities right at “our backyard that can really aid the NSCDC Operations nationwide, in monitoring of Critical Infrastructure and National Assets.”
