NGO to honour women contributing to national development in Abuja

 

A non governmental organisation, Happy Women Rural Initiative, will on November 24, 2023 hold the second edition of her conference and awards.

A press statement from the organisers, Sunday, which was signed by Barrister Mrs Ugo Kalu, stated that the coming conference and awards event is a platform dedicated to celebrating and empowering women in various fields and industries.

According to her, the event is also used to bring together accomplished women, leaders and professionals to discuss pertinent issues, share knowledge, and recognize outstanding achievements.

She said theme of this year’s conference is inspire positive change for women, and it will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, mentorship and  counseling sessions, workshops, exhibitions and  booths and networking opportunities, with the event holding at Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja.

The awards segment, she added, will acknowledge and honor women who have made significant contributions in areas like business, leadership, education, science, and more, as the
event will serve as a catalyst for gender equality, fostering inspiration and collaboration among women from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Barr Ugo added that the target audience for this year’s women’s conference and awards event would include ‘women from various backgrounds and professions who are interested in networking, personal development, and celebrating the achievements of women. 

“This could encompass professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and advocates for women’s rights and empowerment. The event will also attract men who are supportive of these goals and want to participate in promoting women empowerment.

“The organisation was founded to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of women in various fields, including business, politics, science, and social activism.

“It also aims to facilitate networking and collaboration among women, fostering connections that can lead to personal and professional growth, and also to educate attendees on relevant topics such as gender equality, leadership,  mentorship, counseling and women’s rights,” she said.
