Nembe City won’t fold up

Nembe City head coach, Gabriel Samuel Umunna has said his side will not rest on their oars until they are out of the woods.
City pipped former champions, Dolphins 1-0 in Wednesday’s Glo Premier League match day 14 tie at the Krisdera Stadium in Omoku, Port Harcourt.

Musa Newman scored the match winner in the 18th minute to hand his side the crucial three points.
Umunna said the waterlogged pitch made the game difficult but the doggedness to survive helped his side to win the game.
“Of course, we won’t slow down but continue the fight until we get out of the bottom of the log and if there is time left we can contest for a decent position.
“We’re still down so the fight for survival will get more intense and that was what helped us to overcome Dolphins on Wednesday.
“The pitch was waterlogged as a result of heavy rain that started a few minutes to the commencement of the game.
“We resorted to the old-fashioned style of kick and follow which is a very strange pattern for us but I’m happy we survived with the three points.

“The points will give us a lift on the log while we strive for more points to actually leave the base,” said the former Sharks assistant coach to supersport.com.
Nembe City will be the guests of Enyimba on Sunday in Aba in match day 15 duel and Umunna said he is positive they will not comeback empty-handed.

“We’ll give the game at Enyimba everything believing that our very best will fetch us something positive.
“Enyimba are not unbeatable or any other team, we want to be alive and that’ll be the attitude we’ll take to the game.
“The victory against Dolphins has boosted the confidence and morale of the players and they’ll surely fight as wounded lions,” Umunna enthused.
Nembe City total points have increased to 13 from a possible 42 though still at the base with a game at hand.
