National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) yesterday donated drugs worth millions of naira to three hospitals in the state that are treating victims of recent bombasts to complement their efforts.
The benefited hospitals included Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yola, State Specialists Hospital and Peace Hospital, respectively.
Presenting the donations to the hospitals, NEMA’s Director-General, Muhammad Sani-Sidi, who was represented by Adamawa state coordinator, Sa’ad Bello, said the gesture was in line with its mandate to provide succour and other humanitarian assistance to disaster victims and hospitals handling them.

He commended the hospitals for their prompt response and continued support and cooperation they had been giving to the agency whenever their attention was needed during bomb blasts and other emergency situations.
The NEMA boss expressed optimism that the drugs would go a long way in assisting the hospitals in the treatment of the blast victims and assured them of the agency’s continued support and assistance.
On his part, Governor Bindow Umaru Jibrilla, who was represented by the Head of Service, Barrister Musa Kaibo, applauded the federal government for establishing NEMA and the leadership qualities of the agency’s director-general, who, according to him, has continued to take the agency to greater heights.
