The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has resettled 10 trainees on fashion and designing, electrical installation, hair dressing , carpentry and plumbing with starter packs and soft loans.
The trainees were beneficiaries of school on wheels training scheme of the directorate through the vocational skills department.
Speaking at the event, the Director General, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo represented by the state coordinator, Mrs Ifeoma Ezepue, admonished the beneficiaries to make good use of the golden opportunity given to them to alleviate their lives through maximum use of the equipment and soft loans .
Fikpo said that the starter pack and loans will reduce the number of unemployed youths in the society through its multipliers effect if judiciously used by the beneficiaries.
The state coordinator who encouraged the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of NDE also pointed out that the directorate was committed to empowering youths with both vocational skills and loans to develop their economic and social lives in near future by reducing poverty.
Also speaking, the representative of the Director, Vocational Skills Department, Abuja. Mrs Modesta Eze said that NDE has been training and encouraging Nigerian youths in many self reliable schemes and empowering them in order to reduce unemployment in the country.
The head of department VSD, Mrs Amaka Okonkwo encouraged the beneficiaries to make use of the opportunity to show proficiency in their various trades.
