NDE commences training of 25 Nasarawa persons on CBBTS 

The National Directorate of Employment ( NDE) has commenced a three-month intensive training of 25 unemployed persons in Nasarawa state on Community-Based Business Training Scheme (CBBTS) to enable them to be self-employed and employers of labour.

Nasarawa state coordinator of the agency, Mr. Chris Bamsida, stated this during the flag-off/ orientation ceremony for the selected 25 participants of CBBTS on Thursday, in Doma local government area of the state.

Bamsida said the training scheme was designed at identifying functional skills/activities with comparative advantage in the selected communities in the state.

He said that the community based business training would create community involvement in deciding, designing and delivering programme.

“25 unemployed persons were selected to undergo three months intensive skills training in traditional thread weaving , black smithing and aluminum pot making in Galadima and Madaki communities of Doma LGA in Nasarawa state.

Bamsida also said that  beneficiaries would be incentivised by providing them with monthly stipends of N2,000 during the three months training period. “While N3,000 monthly training fee per participant shall be paid to their trainers.

“To enable each beneficiary establish his or her business the sum of N25,000 will be disbursed as soft loan upon completion of the skills training and the conduct of basic business training,” he said.

He therefore, urged the participants to be committed and disciplined during the training.

Bamsida called on individuals, NGO’s, government at various levels and international agencies to collaborate with the directorate to eliminate the monster tagged “unemployment” in communities.

He appreciated governor Abdullahi Sule for creating an enabling environment for the directorate to actualize her vision of “Jobs For All” in communities of the state..

Responding, Mr. Mohammed Abdulrahman, a beneficiary, appreciated NDE for the gesture and promised to be disciplined during the training.
