Nasarawa SUBEB warns against employment scam

Executive secretary of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NASUBEB), Comrade Yakubu Ahmed Ubangari, has advised Nigerians against giving out money to persons for the purpose of securing employment into the board.

He gave the on Monday in a statement in Lafia, saying that it had become imperative “considering the negative attitude of some people who deceive innocent members of the public with false impression about employment in the board.”
He said: “It is unfortunate, barbaric, ungodly and uncalled-for for some unscrupulous individuals to deceive innocent public with false impression on replacement of teachers in the board.

“It has come to our notice that some unscrupulous individuals said that the board has authorised them to fill vacancies for the replacement for teachers by extorting money from the members of the public, this is cheating, 419, an evil acts which must be condemned.”
Continuing, he said: “The board wants to state clearly that it has never authorised anybody or individuals with such false information and impression to fill existing teacher vacancies.

“The board will not fold its hands and watch some individuals or groups tarnish the good image of the board by extorting members of the public.”
According to him, the board will take appropriate disciplinary measures against individuals or group with such evil acts.
“The board hereby disassociates itself from all these malpractice, the board has never given anybody the mandate to this effect and anybody that gives money to anybody for employment does that at his or her risk.”

It urged members of the public to report any individual or group that extorts them for employment to the board for appropriate action.
The statement added that the board would at the appropriate time work out the modalities for the replacement of teachers through competitive examinations.
