The Nasarawa state police command said it has arrested 810 suspected criminals in the state from January to December 2022.
State commissioner of police CP Maiyaki Muhammed-Baba, disclosed this on Friday, in Lafia.
He explained that 136 were arrested for suspected robbery,112
kidnapping,138 cultist, 59 rape, and other sundry offences 365.
He explained further that 374 of the suspects were charged to court and 23 of them were convicted for their offences.
Baba added that the following items were also recovered from the suspects. 704 firearms, 44 live ammunition, six motorcycles five vehicles and the sum of N6000,000 cash.
The CP however, appreciated the Nasarawa state governor Abdulahi A.Sule for his consistent logistics support and intervention that has assisted the command’s operational activities in fighting crime in the state.
He assured the general public of police readiness in protecting lives and property, just as he urged them to report any suspicious movement to the security agencies.
