Nasarawa Christian pilgrims to acquire agric skills in Israel

Nasarawa Christian Pilgrims for the 2015 pilgrimage to Israel would be exposed to agricultural skills and innovations while in the Holy Land.
Executive Secretary of the Board, Barrister clement Odeh, disclosed this on Monday in Lafia during the screening exercise for the 145 intending pilgrims.
He said the gesture was to empower pilgrims with modern agricultural skills in line with the nation’s drive towards the diversification of the economy away from oil.
He said the training was organised in partnership with Tailor Made Tours; an Israeli the agency, would run for 12 days.

“The schedule for the pilgrims have been arranged to incorporate the training after visits to Holy sites daily,” Odeh said, adding that pilgrims would be encouraged to apply the knowledge acquired when they returned to Nigeria in order to boost agricultural production.
He said arrangement had reached advance stage to ensure a hitch-free pilgrimage for 2015.
Deputy speaker, Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Godiya Akwashiki, said he was impressed with the screening exercise and looked forward to embarking on the Holy journey to pray for peace and harmony in Nasarawa state and the country at large.
