NAPTIP summons singer Speed Darlington over alleged s3xual encounter with minor

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, (NAPTIP), has summoned controversial entertainer, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington following a statement made by the singer during a recent Instagram Live session, in which he claimed to have had a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, DSVA, reported the matter to NAPTIP, calling for an immediate and thorough investigation into the disturbing claims.

Subsequently, Speed Darlington released a follow-up video, claiming the controversial statement was part of a promotional strategy for a new song. He also apologized for any offence or distress his comments may have caused.

In a statement issued on Thursday, NAPTIP confirmed it had summoned the singer at its headquarters in Abuja for questioning.

The agency advised the singer to bring any legal representative along including all documents consider necessary.

The agency added that it would take appropriate legal action should he fail to honour the invitation.
