The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the Kebbi state governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, for giving priority to the education sector.
They also hailed him for delivering efficient services to the people of the state since he assumed mantle of leadership in 2015.
This was contained in a statement by the special adviser on media to the governor, Yahaya Sarki, on Friday.
He said the deputy coordinator of NANS, Zone A, Muhammed Adamu Kichinga, along with top officials of the Kebbi state chapter made the commendation at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, on Thursday while on a courtesy visit to Governor Bagudu to commemorate Nigeria’s diamond independence anniversary celebrations.
Kichinga said the visit was not only to join the governor in celebrating Nigeria’s Independence anniversary, but to also commiserate with the government and good people of the state over the flood disaster which has devastated farmlands, crops, and infrastructure.
“The great Nigerian students are here today to celebrate our independence and also sympathise with government and people of the state, especially farmers who have incurred monumental loss of their farmlands and crops.
“This is indeed very sad for a state spearheading food production in Nigeria with a dogged and resilient governor like Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu,” the statement read in part.
