Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) in Kwara state, Comrade Yekeen Agunbiade, has urged the state government to ensure that only genuine and registered farmers benefitted from the CBN’s N1 billion agricultural facility when the state eventually accessed it.
He further urged the state government not to start the implementation of the proposed contributory pension scheme with the present crop of civil servants in the state who are already preparing for retirement or had gotten one form of loan or the other, but  rather, begin the implementation of the scheme with those that came into service in 2014.
Agunbiade stated this in an interview with newsmen in Ilorin, the state capital.
According to him, if the loan is given to the real farmers, it would ensure abundant food production in the state and also reduce the high rate of unemployment due to its multiplying benefits.
He, however, commended the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for ensuring regular payment of the salaries of the core civil servants and pensioners in the state.
