More defection woes hit PDP as more Senators move to APC

Three serving senators from Kebbi State, elected on the platform of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have formally declared their intention to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Three serving senators from Kebbi State-Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South) have officially declared their intention to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.

The senators, accompanied by Kebbi State Governor, Mohammed Idris and other APC leaders, are set to formalise their defection, which is seen as a significant political shift in Kebbi State.

Also present at the meeting were Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu.
