More audacious impunity

As the 2019 elections approach, Nigerians, especially Lagosians should expect more audacious impunity from various sectors because even as of now, the law seems to have begun to slumber, and the slumber will become deeper as the elections draw near and politicians do not want to offend the electorate. The people to watch most are the okada riders. Presently, they have taken over most or all of Lagos roads, forcing traffic to a standstill most of the time as they operate with reckless impunity.
They block access to junctions, occupy whole lanes with their dangerous riding, with no one to check their excesses. As the election month approaches, they will become more daring, and this can result to altercation between them and other road users. Law enforcement agencies should therefore be mindful of the breach of the peace that is almost sure to ensue and nip the impunity in the bud. A. Iyi Ladele, Lagos state
