Marcello Nigeria’s true ambassadorin in UAE football league – Elumelu

Former technical committee member of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Austel Elumelu, has commended Nigerian-born UAE based coach, Marcello Anyanwu, for his patriotic gestures in creating opportunities for Nigeria players in UAE 🇦🇪 league, describing him as a true Ambassador with eyes for moulding talents.

Speaking from Dubai where he’s rounding off his holidays, the Delta state-born astitude football admistrator identified and described Marcelo as a big masquerade in UAE football.

In his words: “When I visited Gulf United football club in Dubai office, the club management & the entire backroom staff were calling him African legend, and the same name were resonating in training and of course at Match venue. In fact, all African players are happy to have him in the club.”

It would be recalled that Marcello Anyanwu was part of Gulf United technical crew that won UAE division 3 and 2 league back to back In 2001/2022 & 2022 /2023 seasons.

The Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) Ambassador has the tenacity to groom and nurture players as he understands the methodology of tutoring lads from simple to complex tactics.

He has the ability to develop players and enhance their potential for optimal development” says former NFF Electoral Committee Member.

Speaking with Anyanwu on how he feels having Barrister Elumelu around in UAE, he said: “Barrister Austel Elumelu is a great man,he’s my Boss ,I was excited to have him around. His visit was something I will not forget in my lifetime. His supports and encouragement to Nigeria and African players was exceptional. In fact, We are happy to have him around us.

“I will continue to use my status as Assistant coach and head scout of Gulf United football club Dubai to create opportunities for Nigerian players” says the former NFF presidential Aspirant.”
