Manchester United and Newcastle United are both in pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, as the race for his signature intensifies this summer.

Initially tipped to join Arsenal, Sesko’s path to the Emirates has now been blocked, with the Gunners opting to sign Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres instead.

Newcastle’s interest in Sesko has grown amid uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isak’s future. The Swedish striker has reportedly asked to leave, with Liverpool now leading the chase to sign him. Newcastle’s attempt to sign Hugo Ekitike ended in disappointment after the young forward sealed a move to Anfield.

At Old Trafford, United boss Ruben Amorim is aiming to add more firepower to his squad. After recruiting Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to operate as dual attacking midfielders, Sesko has emerged as a key target to spearhead the attack.

With the new Premier League season fast approaching, the 21-year-old forward is expected to make a decision on his future in the coming days.
