The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has described the death of Governor Seyi Makinde’s eldest brother, Sunday Makinde, as sad and unfortunate.
Oba Olakulehin stated this Saturday in a condolence message to Governor Makinde on the death of Sunday Makinde at the age of 65.
The Olubadan in the statement signed by his chief press secretary, Comrade Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade, said death “is an inevitable end for all mortals.”
Oba Olakulehin pointed out that late Sunday Makinde contributed positively to Ibadanland, Oyo state and Nigeria in general, adding that available information in the public domain shows that the deceased was a humble and accomplished individual.
“The Olubadan of Ibadanland is using this medium to sympathise with Governor Makinde, his immediate and extended family members over the sudden death of his eldest brother, Sunday Makinde”, he said.
Oba Olakulehin added: “Available information in the public domain revealed that Sunday Makinde contributed positively to the development of Ibadan, Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.
“I therefore express my condolences the governor, urging him to take heart. It is always painful to lose a loved one, but who are we to question what God has done? It is my prayer that the gentle soul of the deceased will rest in perfect peace and God will grant the entire Makinde family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” said.
