Makinde approves August 20 as Isese Day, public holiday

Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde on Friday approved August 20 of every year as Isese Day public holiday in the state.

Blueprint reports that already, the governor has declared Monday, August 20, this year, as the maiden Isese Public holiday.

According to a circular signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, the public holiday followed the approval of August 20 of every year as Isese Day in the state by Governor Seyi Makinde.

The governor in the circular charged traditional worshippers in the state to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the state in particular and the country in general.

The circular stressed that the approval indicated the governor’s commitment to inclusivity and respect for all religious practices in the state.
