Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, Thursday, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening health services by investing in infrastructure, workforce development, and enhanced collaboration among healthcare professionals.

The minister gave this commitment at the maiden summit of the Dental Technologists Registration Board of Nigeria, held at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.

Mahmoud highlighted the increasingly vital role of dental technologists within multidisciplinary dental care teams in both public and private institutions, especially as global awareness of oral health and modern prosthetics grows.

She called on participants to pay attention to the transformation brought by digitisation and artificial intelligence, urging practitioners to embrace innovation, prioritise standardised training, and pursue global competitiveness.

She further advocated for a culture of research and increased local production of dental materials to reduce import dependence.
The minister also charged summit participants to engage in strategic discussions that would yield actionable recommendations, informing national policy and elevating professional standards.
